Meet our team!
Dr. Stephen Wong
From the busy and exciting city of Hong Kong, Dr. Stephen’s family moved to the beautiful Gold Coast to explore new and exciting opportunities for himself and his brothers. Having been educated and brought up in the Australian school system, Stephen recognised a calling to dentistry.
After Stephen graduated from the University of Queensland with honours in 2001, he found himself establishing his dental skills in both the private and public sectors. He strongly believes in understanding all aspects of dentistry, and continually attends lectures and seminars held by leading lecturers to advance his dental knowledge and skills.
Dr. Stephen’s drive to make a difference in the Brisbane dental scene, was the first step of the Complete Smile Dental journey. As the primary founder of Complete Smile Dental and Healthy Smile Dental, Stephen is passionate in creating dental practices that will encompass all aspects of dentistry, in order to fulfil the individual needs of each of his patients.
Seeing the need to expand Complete Smile Dental services, Stephen is currently heading up the new and exciting Gap practice.
Dr. My Khanh Trinh
My Khanh’s passion for dentistry, and trying to help her patients achieve their goals, is one the most obvious traits of her dental approach. Her genuine care and love for patients allows her to communicate with her patients extremely well.
Graduating from the University of Queensland with honours, My Khanh has been a strong advocate of more efficient and effective public oral health care. Her role as a Senior Government Dentist has given her the opportunity to help improve the oral health outcomes of some of Queensland’s rural communities.
However, My Khanh had always enjoyed the more personalised approach of private practices, and has always been involved in this sector since graduating. Having known Stephen at university as a fellow student, My Khanh was approached by him to join the Complete Smile Dental team. She immediately connected with his vision of Complete Smile Dental, and saw it as a good opportunity to establish herself in the private sector.
My Khanh is currently working at The Gap practice and our Underwood branch Healthy Smile Dental.
Dr. Eliza Chen
Dr. Eliza Chen, a dedicated The Gap Dentist, earned her Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Queensland. Raised in the vibrant community of Brisbane, she is deeply invested in offering personalised dental care within local private practices.
Strongly advocating preventive care and minimally invasive treatments, Dr. Eliza emphasises comprehensive oral health education. She believes providing patients with the right knowledge is key to achieving optimal oral health outcomes. With her warm demeanour and gentle approach, Dr. Chen strives to brighten smiles and instil confidence in each patient.
Beyond dentistry, Dr. Chen cherishes time with loved ones and enjoys exploring vegetarian cuisine. Fluent in English, Mandarin and Hokkien, she fosters connections with a diverse range of patients.

Dr. David Tran
Originally from Sydney but proud to call Brisbane home, Dr David Tran is a highly skilled dentist with over a decade of experience providing exceptional patient-centred care. Renowned for his gentle approach which keeps his patients feeling at ease and comfortable, Dr. Tran makes every patient’s visit a positive experience.
In a word, Dr Tran’s expertise truly lives up to the ‘complete’ in Complete Smile Dental. He maintains his place at the forefront of the latest innovations in dental care through rigorous ongoing education, including restorative dentistry, cosmetic procedures, and patient comfort management. All in all, he is a trusted and skilled practitioner, true to the caring philosophy of Complete Smile Dental.
Dr. David Tran’s Queensland story began with his move from Sydney to the idyllic Gold Coast, igniting his love for the Sunshine State. He then pursued his dental studies at Griffith University, graduating in 2012 and commencing his career in private practice in South Brisbane. He quickly built a reputation for his relentless diligence, refining his skills and expanding his knowledge. Staying ahead of the curve with the latest dental advancements, his experience was further widened by switching states again, this time with a dentistry tenure of 9 years in Melbourne. This enriching professional journey continues with Dr. Tran having now returned to Brisbane, drawn by its vibrant lifestyle and sunny weather, where he now enjoys a balanced life with his family.
Academic and personal background
Dr. Tran graduated from Griffith University in 2012, where he gained a robust understanding of contemporary dental practices. Originally from Sydney, he moved to the Gold Coast to pursue his studies. After an enriching professional journey that took him from Brisbane to Melbourne, Dr. Tran returned to Brisbane, drawn by its vibrant lifestyle and sunny weather, where he now enjoys a balanced life with his family.
Dr. Jean Low
With a natural talent for connecting with people and a deep commitment to patient care, Dr. Jean Low is an outstanding dentist who truly listens. Her advanced dentistry skills, gentle touch and a compassionate demeanour ensure that your dental care experience is finely-tailored, welcoming, and of the highest quality. Patientsof all ages love their time with Dr Low, not only for her expertise in various dental procedures, but also her excellent communication skills. If you have Dr Low as your dentist, you can expect finely personalised treatments and patient education, provided with utmost care and understanding.
Having worked in metropolitan and regional areas, including Gympie, Dr. Jean excels in easing the anxieties of her patients from all backgrounds. Her patience and understanding foster trust, making every visit a positive experience. She prioritises high-quality, accessible dental care, focusing on individualised treatment that makes each patient feel valued and understood.
Fluent in Mandarin, English, and Malay, Dr. Jean brings a wealth of expertise to her practice. She holds a Bachelor of Dental Health Science and a Master of Dentistry from Griffith University, along with a Bachelor of Process Engineering (First Class Honours) from Queensland University of Technology. Her dentistry foundations are rock solid and her understanding of people and culture is broad.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Jean enjoys cooking, playing board games with friends, and travelling to explore the wonderful diversity of nature and humanity. Living life with a wide-view of the world and its people enriches her professional journey and enhances the care she provides to her patients.
Melissa
Office Co-ordinator/Dental Assistant
Melissa has been working with Complete Smile Dental since 2020. At our The Gap location, Melissa works in all areas of the clinic, from ensuring all bookings and front office admin is running smoothly, to assisting chair-side with the dentists. Being able to work on the front office and chair-side lets her build a relationship with our patients that she continues to cherish as a part of her role here at Complete Smile Dental.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys driving to the beach to go paddle boarding with her two dogs Pearl and Poppy, as well as spending time with her friends and family.
